June 5th Farm Sunday 11 – 4pm at Goldstone Farm (Chandler & Dunn), Cop St, Ash CT3 2DY. We need helpers to talk about bees to visitors, help with the Observation Hive and man the stall. Its a good day! Lots of animals, stalls etc.
June 18th 2.30 pm APIARY MEETING Roger and Kevin’s Wagtail Apiary, St Nicholas at Wade – Bee diseases in the hive
June 25 and 27th Kay Wreford Bee Tour Safari – book a spot for your apiary
July 7 / 8 / 9th Kent Show
July 16th APIARY MEETING Sue Clark’s Apiary, Chislet – Precautions for wasp /hornet control and various form of varroa treatment – Rowena Pearce and Richard Blight.
Sue will lay on a bar-b-que with sausages and asks that members bring additional items for the hot coals(chicken, burgers, etc.) Sue also suggests the following:-
Members with surname A –M bring salad and other savoury dishes
Members with surname N – Z bring a dessert.

September 24th 2.30pm TBKA Honey Show with Acol Horticultural Society
September 28th East Kent Ploughing Match and Show, Grange Farms Ltd., Mill Lane, Nonington, Dover CT15 4HW
October 12th 7.30 pm Hive Construction & Husbandry, a hands on practical session led by Roger Thompson and Bill Yeoman with time at the end for members to bring in an item to suggest one tip for this topic. Salvation Army Hall, 13 Tothill, Minster CT12 4AG. Parking available at the Hall or at the public car park behind the New Inn car park, 3 mins away.
October 22nd 2.30pm Dover and District Beekeepers’ Association Honey Show & Competition held at Bruderhof Community Hall, Beech Grove, Forest Drive, Nonington CT15 4FB. Open classes for other associations. Charlotte has some schedules/entry forms. Entry forms must be in by 15th October and at venue by 9.15 on day of show.
October 28th Friday Minibus trip to National Honey Show 2016 at Sandown Park Racecourse, Portsmouth Road, Esher, Surrey KT10 9AJ. Pickup at 8.30 am from the public car park (free), next to the Bell Inn, Minster, opposite the church. Coach will leave Sandown at 4pm.
November 6th Sunday 2.00pm Kent Beekeepers’ Association Autumn Lectures. Lenham Community Centre, Groom Way, ME17 2QT tickets £5 in advance (from Charlotte), £6 on door. Prof. Phil Stevenson (University of Greenwich/ Kew Gardens), “Sex, drugs & pollinators – the ecology and impact of toxins in nectar and pollen” Prof. Dave Goulson (University of Sussex), “Saving our Bumblelees”
November 28th 7.30pm Annual General Meeting at Taddy’s Barn, East Northgate Farm, George Hill Road, Margate CT9 3TS. All welcome.
