All of our members are hobby beekeepers and take great care for the welfare of our bees. We are careful to only take the surplus honey, making sure the bees have plenty of honey stores to see them through the winter. Weather will also have an impact on supplies. Even in a good year our beekeepers will not have enormous year-round supplies.

Local honey will change in colour, taste and texture from year to year and season to season depending on what the bees are foraging on.

All honey crystalises, some quicker than others, again depending on what the bees are foraging on.

When buying local honey, you are buying a premium product that has come straight from the bees, strained and bottled. Please see our campaigns page and learn about the adulterated honey found in many supermarkets.
